My March 2026 in books

March 2026 will forever be a special month to me because (a) it’s the month I started Dzifa’s Bookshelf and (b) I read the most number of books in a month than I ever have in my life. For context, I read 12 books in the entirety of 2025 and 13 books in the month of March 2026 alone. Isn’t that crazy?

I track my reading using The StoryGraph and so they make the whole reading wrap-up process fairly easy. So while I will include those graphics, I thought it might be fun to add a couple prompts of my own just to see what I might like to include for my regular reading wrap-ups. I’m thinking about doing one each month, and potentially on a quarterly or weekly basis depending on what I have the bandwidth for. I am truly just enjoying using this as a creative outlet, reading ARCs, and getting back to the joy of reading.

I had a nice mix of audio books vs non, especially since I would never listen to audiobooks initially because I thought I’d get too distracted to pay attention to the plot. One of them was Trapped, an Audible exclusive that sounded like I was listening to a TV show but in book format. It was incredibly gripping and though I cancelled my Audible free trial, I would definitely listen to something like that again. I also like the percentage of print books because I’ve been rediscovering my love for physical books and the library has been an amazing help.

Looking at the spread, I am glad Project Hail Mary was my 5 star read of the month. I saw the movie a couple nights ago and it was fantastic! I loved the book so much, I think I’ve annoyed everyone who has come within a 5 mile radius of me with how much time I spend talking about it. I didn’t read as much Christian non-fiction as I would have liked, so my plan for April is to finish a bunch that I’ve paused over the years. I might have a space on this website to discuss stuff like lessons learned, etc. It is kinda hard for me to rate non-fiction because I’m not judging characters or plot, but writing style and I suppose facts presented? But we’ll see. Also I thought I was a romance fiend but only 6 of these reads were pure romance? That’s good, I suppose, because it shows that I’m expanding what I read.
